Clarkstown Lacrosse Club is a local organization based in New City providing boys grades Kindergarten through 8th grade an opportunity to play organized lacrosse. Players are taught the basic skills of lacrosse at a young age by highly qualified and motivated volunteer coaches.
The K-2nd group players are taught the basics and play a limited amount of games against neighboring organizations and annual tournaments.
As players progress to the 3rd-4th grade teams, players begin to not only continue to work on the basics of lacrosse but now more team play as well.
Players on the 5th-6th grade teams begin to work on more advanced skills and gameplay. Some more of the physical aspects are introduced and utilized along with players moving towards specialties such as shooting, defensive play with long poles, and goaltending.
Players on the 7th-8th grade teams continue to hone in on their skills and prepare for more advanced play at the modified and high school levels.
All players play organized games against neighboring teams along with tournaments in Rockland, Orange and Westchester.
Players are members of US Lacrosse and are expected to abide by the rules and regulations required by the US Lacrosse organization and its sportsmanship rules towards the game of lacrosse.
